Studies Advisors

How Studies Advice will operate

Studies Advice for students is an important aspect of the School’s efforts to improve student retention. A Studies Advisor has been allocated to each of you as part of the induction/enrolment process - check your grouping under timetables. As a minimum, Year 1 and 2 Studies Advisors will meet with you individually within the first 3 weeks of Semester 1 and again at the start of Semester 2. The primary focus of these meetings is to discuss how well you have settled into University life and the outcome of Semester 1 performance respectively. Other meetings will take place depending on the needs of individuals, although clearly the small group tutorials (SAGs) in Semester 1 will also help you.

The first meeting will ensure that you have settled into your placement and the second will include a discussion on preparation for return to study for final year.
